Can I update or replace an old letter?

Yes - if you uploaded the old letter electronically, you can initiate an update by navigating to your Write Recommendations page from the same account. Scroll down to the Completed Letters section, where you'll see a list of letters that you've uploaded in the past. Next to each letter, you'll see the option to "replace" or "update" a letter.

What's the difference between "replacing" and "updating" a letter?

Replacing a letter involves overwriting the old letter you uploaded with a new version. The letter will be associated with the same letter request slot.

You'll have the option to replace a letter if:

1. It's been less than 14 days since you uploaded it, and

2. The letter has not been used in a delivery or application.

Updating a letter means that you'll be uploading your letter to a new slot in the account associated with the original document.

You'll have the Update option if:

1. The letter has been sent in a delivery, or

2. It's been more than 14 days since you uploaded the letter.

Completing the Update or Replace process:

Both the "replace" and "update" option will ultimately allow you to upload a new letter - the outcome is just a little different. With both options, you should edit the local version of your letter that you have saved on your computer first, and then select either the "replace" or "update” option next to the completed letter when you're ready to upload it to Interfolio.

I submitted my last letter by mail - can I get a copy?
